The Detroit Department of Transportation recently announced that they will be holding five public hearings during the week of July 18 – July 25 to propose the major service changes coming in September 2016 and January 2017. The schedule for the week is as followed: Monday, July 18 from 10:00am to Noon at the Patton Recreation Center located on 2301 Wildermere St.; Tuesday, July 19 from 10:00am to Noon at the DDOT Administration Building located on 1301 E. Warren. A second meeting on this day will be from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at East Lake Baptist Church located on 12400 E. Jefferson. The last two meetings are on Wednesday, July 20 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Rosa Parks Transit Center located on 1310 Cass Ave; and Monday, July 25 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at the Redford Branch Library located on 21200 Grand River Ave.
In addition, DDOT will also be hosting a route innovation community input workshop at different Detroit Public Library Branches. The purpose of the four session workshop is to gather current and future customers, residents, community partners and public transit and stakeholders. Here is the schedule: Tuesday, July 12 from 1:00pm – 2:30pm at the Campbell Branch located on 8733 W. Vernor; Wednesday, July 13 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at the Knapp Branch located on 13330 Conant; and the last two sessions will be held on Thursday, July 14 from 4:30pm – 5:45pm at the Edison Branch located on 18400 Joy Rd. and from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at the Chaney Branch located on 16101 Grand River Ave.
